Hair and Beauty Course NVQs – Further Information

The exciting and glamorous world of beauty therapy offers a number of fun and exciting opportunities. A career in beauty therapy could be your next step to a new future. Imagine being able to choose to work in a range of different fields such as:

  • Cruising the world while working as a beauty therapist on a Cruise Liner
  • Running your own salon
  • Work in the luxury market at a day spa or health farm
  • A lecturer teaching beauty therapy at a college or another training centre.

You may choose to work from home as a freelance beauty therapist, or you may like the pace and glamour of working in a high end city salon.

Once qualified you could specialise as a make-up artist working in film, television or theatre. Every fashion model show needs a make-up artist – with a little dedication this could be you! You might enjoy the creativity of nail artistry and train as a nail technician. If your interest lies in the holistic side, you can extend your skills from massage to  aromatherapy.

Once specialised, many therapists wish to expand their skills even further into advanced techniques: as an electrologist you can learn to remove thread veins and warts; as an aromatherapist you can learn Shiatsu, Reiki or Indian Head Massage.
