Answers to some of the most frequent questions our students have about Elite Hair and Beauty School’s hair and beauty course can be found below. If your question isn’t answered here or you would like more information about any of our courses, please get in touch and we will be happy to help.

Do I have to wear a uniform on the Hair and Beauty courses?

No, not on the short intensive courses. Some students if they have them are welcome to wear theirs but on the whole students wear something comfortable and decide on their uniforms at a later stage.

How many students are on the course?

There is a maximum of four students to a class allowing for individual attention where necessary.

Where can I get insurance from?

The Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists. For more information, visit their website: http://www.beautyguild.com/

Where can I get my products from?

We offer a comprehensive range of kits which are available for each student to buy. We will also advise you on wholesalers, trade outlets etc for future purchases.

How much can I charge for my hair and Beauty treatments?

This largely depends on the area where you are going to be based. Prices for treatments vary considerably throughout the country so you need to carry out some market research.

I have never started up a business before, can you help me?

Our tutors are all experienced therapists who have worked in the industry and have gained a wealth of knowledge to advise our students whilst they are on the courses.

What's the difference between your courses and my local college?

We offer private education to those individuals that wish to fast track their studies. At the end of your short intensive course you will receive the Elite Diploma which will enable you to get insurance to practise beauty therapies in the UK. We offer NVQ’s taught over a shorter period of time than your local college as we teach in smaller groups.

How can I learn a treatment in a day when it's a 10 week course at my local college?

We teach in very small groups on an intensive basis. The majority of the day is practical work virtually on a one-one basis coupled with on-hand assistance should it be required.

What qualifications do your tutors have?

All our tutors have recognised teaching qualifications and also we have 2 City and Guilds Assessors on our staff.

Do the tutors have any experience within the industry?

Yes, within salons, mobile or home based. We have over fifty years of industry experience to share with the students.

Who do we practise on during the course?

We supply models for the students to practice on. If you would prefer, we don’t mind if you would rather bring a friend or family member with you to work on instead.

Do you offer training courses for Gentlemen?

Training courses are offered to gentlemen as well as ladies these are mainly run separately but on occasions can be mixed. Students will be advised if a member of the opposite sex has requested to attend a course, but due to the small number on the courses this rarely happens.

Once I have completed my course is there someone available to help and advise me if I have any problems or concerns?

Yes. There will always be someone at the end of the phone to help you and offer advice.

What happens if I complete the course but do not feel confident?

We will talk and help you as much as possible either over the phone or at the centre. If you are still struggling we will invite you back to re-sit your course free of charge.

Is there an exam at the end of my course?

There isn’t a formal exam as you are assessed as the day progresses.
