Can you help me start up my hair, beauty & aesthetics business?

All of the tutors at Elite School of Beauty Therapy in Hertfordshire are experienced therapists who have worked in the industry and have gained a wealth of knowledge to advise you whilst you are on our hair, beauty and aesthetics courses.

How can I learn a treatment in a day when it's a 10 week course at my local college?

At our Hertfordshire hair & beauty training school we teach in very small groups on an intensive basis. The majority of the day is practical work virtually on a one-one basis, coupled with on-hand assistance, should it be required. You’ll be amazed at what you can learn in a day!

What qualifications do your tutors have?

All our tutors have recognised teaching qualifications and also we have 5 VTCT Assessors in our Hertfordshire hair & beauty training school.

Do the tutors in your Hertfordshire hair & beauty school have industry experience?

«

Yes, within salons, mobile or home based. We have over fifty years of industry experience to share with the students and every tutor runs their own successful Hair or Beauty business alongside teaching your courses.

Do you offer hair & beauty training courses for men in Hertfordshire?

«

Our Hertfordshire hair & beauty training courses are offered to men and women. These courses are usually run separately but, on occasions, we offer mixed classes. You will be advised if a member of the opposite sex has requested to attend a course, but due to the small number on the courses this rarely happens.

Is there an exam at the end of my hair, beauty or aesthetics course?

This depends on which course you choose.  There isn’t a formal exam on the Short Intensive Diploma courses as you are assessed as the day progresses. The VTCT qualifications are structured to include end of unit exams, written questions and practical assessments.

Will I receive a certificate at the end of my hair & beauty course?

All Beauty DiplomaandHair Diploma courses are fully accredited with the Beauty Guild or ABT. On successful completion of your course, you will receive an E-certificate which will enable you to obtain public liability insurance.

Do You Have Courses For Teachers?

Our VTCT teaching qualifications are ideal for those wishing to enter the teaching profession or for newly qualified teachers who need further training. These courses involve home-based study which involves learning various units relating to your chosen course, producing a portfolio of evidence and carrying out written assessments. You will email all course work to your tutor for marking.  If you require a meeting with your tutor during your course, we will be happy to arrange a Skype session to give you the support you require. Are You Better Than Other Hair & Beauty Training Centres?

We only teach in small groups of 4-6 students to give you plenty of practical training and support. We offer a professional but friendly working environment. We supply models for you to practice on so you can perfect your techniques.  All our tutors are fully qualified and run their own businesses.  We are up to date on all the latest trends and techniques and we offer after-course support.

Do I have to wear a uniform on your hair & beauty courses?

No, not on the short intensive courses. Some students if they have them are welcome to wear theirs but on the whole, students wear something comfortable and decide on their uniforms at a later stage.

How many students are on the course?

There is a maximum of four students to a class allowing for individual attention where necessary.

Where can I get my hair or beauty products from?

«

Elite School of Hair & Beauty in Bishop's Stortford offers a comprehensive range of kits which are available for you to buy. We will also advise you on wholesalers, trade outlets etc for future purchases.

Once I am trained, how much can I charge for my hair and beauty treatments?

«

This largely depends on the area where you are going to be based. Prices for treatments vary considerably throughout the country so you need to carry out some market research.

What's the difference between your hair & beauty courses and courses at my local college?

«

Our Hertfordshire hair & beauty training school offers private education to those individuals that wish to fast track their studies.

At the end of your short intensive course, you will receive the Elite Diploma which will enable you to get insurance to practise beauty therapies in the UK. We offer Hair & Beauty NVQs taught over a shorter period of time than your local college as we teach in smaller groups.

Who do we practise our hair & beauty techniques on during the course?

We supply models for you to practice on. If you would prefer, you can bring a friend or family member with you to work on instead.

Once I have completed my course is there someone who can advise me if I have any problems or concerns?

«

Yes. There will always be someone at the end of the phone to help you and offer advice.

What happens if I complete the course but do not feel confident?

«

We will talk and help you as much as possible either over the phone or at the centre. If you are still struggling we will invite you back to re-sit your course free of charge.
